Adjusting From eBay To Amazon

Anyone who begins trading on Amazon and expects it to be a carbon copy of eBay is in for a shock. Amazon is a more professional environment but lacks the sense of community that characterizes eBay at its best.

One obvious way that Amazon differs from eBay is with regard to the comparatively few buyers that leave feedback. You will need to manually leave feedback for buyers – there’s no way to automate it.

Every month or so I blitz buyers who’ve not left feedback with form emails requesting that they return positive feedback. It’s wise to get positive feedback whenever you can because Amazon can be just as unforgiving as eBay with regard to negative feedback. It’s not unusual to get a warning from Amazon if your feedback dips below 80%.

So how do you stay on the right side of Amazon? Always aim to ship on time. No one beats Amazon in terms of shipping.

However you’ll soon find that fast shipping isn’t so easily done as you might think. To stay on the right side of Amazon buyers, always aim to ship goods within 24 hours of receipt of order. Amazon stipuates 48 hours. But routinely send goods any later and you’ll have problems with your Amazon customers and your feedback will suffer.

The best solution I’ve found is to let Amazon do it all for you.`This means using their Fulfillment By Amazon program. You send your goods to Amazon and they store and send them for you. They’ll ship eBay and website orders for you as well as Amazon orders.

I’ve been using FBA since last September and in that time my feedback has gone from 94% positive to 100% positive.

  1. Hi Pete,

For a new guy to John Thornhill’s mentor program you look so accomplished and professional. After years of paying thousands of dollars and not making one-red cent I just have a hard time with believing in this anymore. Is there anything you can say or do for me to give me my confidence back? Thank you in advance.

  2. Hi Mike,

I would recommend that you follow a system and stick with it. Which marketers do you admire who are honest and successful? Most marketers have a mentorship course even if they don’t advertise it (me included). Email them about it. You don’t mention if you have taken John’s course or not. I would certainly put that option near the top of your list. Hope that helps.
